Most of a workday is never written down.
Time trackers only know what you remember to tell them. The tabs, calls and half-finished ideas in between never get logged, so commitments and ideas quietly slip.
ScreenPipe records the text on my screen and my audio all day on a Mac Mini. Cortex turns that into sessions, focus, idle time and open loops, shown on a private dashboard at cortex.atriveo.com.
The dashboard is private: it shows my own activity, so it isn't pictured here.

Record everything, then pull out what mattered.
Cortex groups raw capture into sessions and scores presence in five states, from focused to asleep. A local model (Gemma on Ollama) proposes projects, commitments and ideas, which I rate good, okay or bad in an inspector.
A launchd agent syncs every five minutes from a watermark. Every published model must rebuild from the local store alone, with no network or LLM calls.
The hardest part was naming a session. “Research” and “GitHub” said where I was, not what I was doing.
Titles now come from competing signals, each with its own confidence: URL structure, window title, project match, OCR, domain and category. OCR was switched off after a backfill of a real day produced titles like “Software Engineerhetnat”.
